Wedding Floral Trends 2018

Updated: Jun 19, 2018

Flower Hoops These started to appear in 2017 in large scale weddings and we are sure to see more of them in 2018. They lend themselves to the whimsical and loose, unstructured just picked from the garden trend with British grown blooms being able to take centre stage.

For bouquets they are lighter and much easier for brides to carry and a great move on from the traditional bouquet. These will be particularly popular with bridesmaids bouquets and look great teamed with flower crowns.

For event styling they can be used in various sizes to provide a framework for brides to showcase their individual and eclectic style, lavishly hanging as chandeliers or vertical installations with foraged and whimsical details.

Flower Jewellery

Flower crowns have been popular for a while now, but other statement floral jewellery pieces are beginning to filter through in UK weddings.  Flower crowns have been popular for a while now  but new to the scene are flower tiaras. They use smaller flowers and are more refined so as to not add too much weight, making them easier to wear for brides. They delicately complement the bridal style rather than overpowering it.  They look great in the unstructured just gathered from the garden look and can use almost any flower and colour so perfect to showcase each brides own personal style.

Flower cuffs, bracelets and necklaces will also be popular for weddings in 2018, with an array of pieces to choose from. Beautifully arranged necklaces in choker styles and also more statement pieces in draping styles delicately adorned with feathery grasses and exquisite petals.

Flower jewellery is perfect for smaller delicate flowers such as Astrantia, Hellebore, and Aquilegia but is also great for larger flowers made up of individual blooms such as Hydreangea, and larkspur. Succulents are also creating a stir making robust pieces which are able to withstand a full day of bridal hugs.

With bases made from leather, suede, ribbon and other soft touch fabrics for a real luxe feel 2018 is the year for flower jewellery.
