Previously known as Plain Jane Cakes, in 2019 we decided to amalgamate the flower and cake side of the business together to offer synergy and a seamless link between the two. So in addition to our floral service we specialise in creating beautiful, elegant and stylish bespoke wedding cakes to clients throughout Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey & London.
Cakes can be made using organic fresh flowers the same as the bouquet (where edible and seasonal flowers allow) or we can make sugarpaste flowers and other elements.
We offer free 30 min telephone consultations so that we can get an idea of what you have in mind for your big day. The price of your wedding cake will depend on how elaborate you would like your cake and how many tiers you would like. The bigger and more highly decorated, the more expensive it will be. Bespoke cakes are not at all like the ones you find in the supermarket, they are all made individually covered in real buttercream, not substitutes and decorated by hand. They are also much deeper than shop bought ones so will look much more premium. We also double barrel as high as needed so they can be cut into 1x1” portions.
How many wedding cake tiers do I need?
The number of tiers your cake has will depend on the number of servings you need and how much of a centrepiece you would it to be on the day. Below is our general guide to how much cake you will need based on your guest list. It is based on a 1x1” serving of either sponge or fruitcake.
For greater impact we also make dummy layers to create spectacular cakes where only a few tiers of edible cake are needed. Dummies are perfect if you want a 5-tier cake, but only need for example 70 servings, as a fake layer can add drama and extra height, without the need for a filling.
The table below offers a guide to the cost of our cakes. The bigger and more elaborate the cake is the more expensive it will be. Prices are based on Sponge with American buttercream , additional charges will apply for fruit, Chocolate & swiss meringue. It's important to choose the right cake for the style of your wedding theme. They are a great way to pull the final details of the wedding together and help create drama and finish of your theme.
From rustic naked cakes, to elaborate sugarpaste and rose covered statement pieces we can design the perfect cake for your big day.
The style of cake will determine the best cake base which can then be left naked, partially covered or completely covered. From there it can then be left plain with just a few details or heavily decorated with fresh or sugarpaste flowers and other elements.
