Fuchsia Blooms

Choose Seasonal
Seasonal British flowers are by far the hottest trend for 2019. Choosing local, low carbon foot print and flowers grown with love by independent flower farmers up and down the country. Blooms can be picked at just the right stage of development and do not need to be shipped half way around the world. Peonies in December may be pretty but their effect on the environment is bad.

The florists using British blooms will more than likely have also taken a stand against using floral foam. ( spongy blocks made from plastic containing lots nasty ingredients & Chemicals ) They soak up water like a sponge and acts both as a preservative to prolong the life of the flowers and a support to hold them in place – but it’s super bad for the environment and can not be recycled. Florists are switching to no non floral foam in their droves, experimenting with chicken wire, tape and twig structures instead.

Here at the Fuchsia Blooms studio we dont don't use floral foam, insecticides or chemical fetrtilizers in our field. We grow by organic principles and use mother nature to create a balanced mini ecosystem with biodiversity at the heart of everything we do.

The winter months can be the hardest for a British flower farmer with British blooms very scarce. We look to beautiful seasonal foliage, berries and also dried flowers to get through the cold dark days of winter.
